A Safety Audit is the verification of the existence and implementation of elements of occupational safety and health system and verifying the system’s ability to achieve defined safety objectives. It includes a systematic, independent and documented process for obtaining audit evidence and evaluating it objectively to determine the extent to which the audit criteria are fulfilled.
Safety Audit is both a Risk Management tool and an Improvement tool for any organisation. It must have both management & operational approach. As per IS 14489, Safety Audit is mandatory for hazardous Industries. and findings must be focused towards not only non-compliance, but also Lack of Control.
