82A Rashbehari Avenue – And this is where we work & celebrate life.

The office is at the perfect location to commute (View in Google Maps). It is at one of the oldest cultural hubs in the city of Kolkata – a perfect blend of knowledge, intellect & rich culture.

Decades ago, it was an amalgamation of poets of post-modern Bengali literature at Rashbehari with the likes of Ajit Dutta and Buddhadeb Basu, who prepared the base for movements that marked the “Kallol era” of the Bengali literature. Many others like Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, Promotho Chowdhury, Achintya Kumar Sengupta, artist Jamini Ray, music composer Sachin Deb Burman and others often used to socialise and visit each other here. The younger generation includes economist Amartya Sen, writer Nabanita Deb Sen and poets Shakti Chattopadhyay and Sunil Gangopadhyay, who have kept the flame of knowledge and culture alive.

The streets and surrounding areas are witness to the old-world charm and the air of intellect, knowledge & culture that lingered here. It’s like passing on the relay batton to keep the glory and culture of this place still alive. Our culture can be summarised through these verses from a very famous poem by Rabindranath Tagore.

“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high,
Where knowledge is free…
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls.
Where words come out from the depth of truth,
Where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection.
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit.
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever widening thought and action.”
