Consultivo knowledge report published in the vision zero conference is based upon a study carried out to correlate the impact of leadership functions towards the achievement of Vision Zero.
The knowledge report on “Safety Leadership Towards Vision Zero” was unveiled at the 12th edition of the CII Safety Symposium & Exposition – Eastern Region by Vilas Gaikwad (Chairman, CII Eastern Region Safety Taskforce & Chief Safety (India & SEA), Tata Steel Ltd), Gautam Ray (Co-Chairman, CII Eastern Region Safety Taskforce & Executive Director (HR & Admin), CESC Ltd.), Ashwani Kumar Sareen (Managing Director, Ceratizit India Pvt. Ltd.), Sanjiv Paul (Vice President – Safety, Health & Sustainability, Tata Steel Ltd.), Krishna Nirmalya Sen (Co-Chairman, CII Eastern Region Safety Taskforce & Head – EHS, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, MMH), Nita Karmakar & Saikat Basu (CEO & Chief Mentor, Consultivo) on 8 August 2018. The central theme of the conference was “Safety Leadership towards Vision Zero”.
Like every year, this 2-day flagship initiative by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) provides a platform to the participants to interact with the safety professionals & thought leaders across industries. Consultivo was the technical partner of the CII Safety Symposium & Exposition 2018.
The CII-Consultivo knowledge report focuses & discusses the goal of Vision Zero through safety leadership – the prevention strategy for achieving zero harm & establishing a safety culture.
“Vision Zero” is a transformational approach to prevention that integrates the three dimensions of safety, health and well-being at all levels of work based on the 7 Golden Rules. Safe and healthy working conditions are not only a legal and moral obligation – they also pay off economically.

The knowledge report published in the vision zero conference is based upon a study carried out to correlate the impact of leadership functions towards the achievement of Vision Zero. The results of this study were based upon the analysis of a number of Leadership performance parameters and OHS parameters.
The outcome of the study is quite interesting which points to the fact that better leadership performance is always accompanied by better safety performance.
Further, it also discusses the necessary measures to be taken to build a preventative safety and health culture through effective leadership. The key intention is to establish the safety culture by encouraging positive & effective safety leadership.
