Saikat is a long time sustainability professional and entrepreneur. He is a passionate trainer, believer of the word ‘excellence’ and works for a better tomorrow.
Having spent more than 25 years in Sustainability, CSR, Business Excellence and Risk Management domain across the horizon of 20+ countries, Saikat Basu has nurtured in the capacity of implementer, auditor, trainer and consultant.
He started his career as a mechanical engineer in a manufacturing industry more than 27 years ago as a member in production, design, international projects and quality assurance.
He has worked closely with 1500+ companies worldwide. He has conducted 1000+ training programmes and 1000+ audits across the globe. He considers audit as a tool for improvement and has been a crusader to change the negative mind-set of industry about this ‘hated’ word.
One of his special traits is to develop individuals, teams and organisations in the areas of leadership, excellence and success—helping them to be more, do more, & achieve more and inspire people to be their best. Fostering interest in training course design and planning of intervention techniques considering the adult pedagogy is his key to create long lasting, post-training retention in alignment with their business objectives.
Saikat has diversified exposure to various management practices in the areas of strategic leadership, organisation excellence, financial management and people engagement.
He has worked intensively with 200+ national and international standards on responsible business. He feels it’s an honour for him to work as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on many international standard development & adaptation projects. Business Sustainability Initiatives, CSR, Industrial Safety, Environmental Protection, Social Responsibility and Business Ethics are few of them.
Saikat Basu is also a part of several sustainability (SHE Award, Environmental Excellence, Social Impact) award programme design & jury committee, not to mention a passionate blogger and visiting faculty in academics.
