Public training on Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) with ICC | Partner: Consultivo

Behaviour Based Safety training process helps employees to identify and choose a combination of methods which gives them that knowledge and skills required to implement the safety management system in the organisation.
Dr Ruma Gomes on the other hand explained the human psychology and behaviour modification techniques. She guided the corporate on creating a roadmap for implementing behaviour-based safety.

Consultivo as the training partner of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) conducted a one-day training programme on ‘Behaviour-Based Safety’ held on 17 March 2017 at Kolkata. The training programme conducted by Consultivo aims at developing the knowledge and skills required to implement the safety management system in their organisation. The comprehensive one-day course helped participants to understand the importance of behaviour-based safety in the safety management system.

 

Behaviour-based safety is a process that helps employees to identify and choose a safe behaviour over an unsafe one. They use a combination of methods to give people the information, skills and willingness to work more safely, to maximize their learning and to apply what they learn in the real world.

Mr Nirmal C. Banerjee, Managing Consultant, Consultivo conducted this training session jointly with Dr Ruma Basu Gomes, Senior Consultant of Consultivo and made the corporates experience the bridge to a safer tomorrow.

Mr Banerjee also gave a brief overview on organisational safety culture and identification of accident prone behaviours. With his hands-on industry experience of more than 35 years, he also summarised the differences between behaviour-based safety with conventional safety.

During the interaction session, the participants were asked to identify the antecedents and consequences on few live case studies on the ABC approach. They shared their own experiences and issues related with the safety.

The training session was attended by enthusiastic participants from eminent corporate houses like ACC Ltd, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Aditya Birla Insulators, CMRI, Emami Cement Ltd, Primarc Project Pvt, B.M Birla Heart Research Centre etc.

Mr Sudipta Banerjee, Logistics Incharge, ACC Ltd. was quoted saying, “This training was a very well-structured approach towards BBS.”

Mrs Anuradha Patra, Quality Manager, Omega Consultant Services was quoted saying, “We have learned a lot of things about industrial behavior based safety and industrial psychology. It will help us to implement the same in our organisation.”
